A Sky Dance

How about a little change of pace?

As I often do, last night (March 27, 2019) I pointed my Canon T6 still camera with fisheye lens toward the night sky and let ‘er rip, continuously (exposing a couple thousand still images). Each exposure was 10 seconds, then to video. Here it is:

The long exposures mean the object was a point of light of a bright star’s luminosity. The faint streaks are its movements. As I say, I don’t know what it was and did not see it myself; although the dance was still going on when I came out to change the camera battery, I didn’t think to look up.

There’s a lesson in that.

Allan

If anyone wants to see all the footage from ‘A Sky Dance’, you can go here. I didn’t make it public because it might not be of general interest. I should also mention that I used the sound track music from Werner Herzog’s documentary, ‘Encounters at the End of the World,’ and left in some of Werner’s narration; it seemed to fit with the imagery. You can see his film free at Youtube. (With Herzog, you love him or hate him. I can go either way, depending on the film, although this one is a beaut.)

On the other end of the cosmic-aesthetic spectrum, here is a darker perspective on the ‘heavens’ above: Randall Carlson sums up his recent work via the ‘Suspicious Observers’ paradigm.

    that’s astounding watching from the
edge of the world as you go bravely forth
showing the spooky others go by in the sky
It’s the closest thing to being there for the thrill
take long slow breaths before you look up…
    thanks Allan

there were reports that Northern Lights might happen around that date. Is it possible that they reflected into a Louisiana sky? I have seen those lights often and they are never the same twice. Otherwise I would say the Star People got a little drunk that night or what Drud said.

    Hi Allan,
I also liked your video, the soundtrack particularly good, which Herzog documentary was this score from? Regarding the phenomenon, you would also have to factor in the intervalometer time setting as well as the exposure time to get some idea of how fast this was moving. I am sure you know this but it would be useful extra info. A very interesting and not obviously explicable occurrence, thanks for sharing. The R3D2 (Rapid frequency Risk Reduction Deployment Demonstration) satelitte launch may be the answer although a highly unusual course for any kind of orbit. Of course, the stated reason for the launch/test should always be viewed with some skepticism when dealing with the military.

The haunting score from Herzog’s documentary, was the perfect choice for your Incredible video, Allan.
The viewing seemed to kindle a sense of wonder and internal peace …

    • March 29, 2019 at 7:44 pm

Thanks for noticing, Larry. Yeah, I’ve watched all his films and have ‘archived’ a lot of the sounds – not just music but narration and effects. He is an inspiring fellow! I much prefer his documentaries, altho he can make a ‘H-wood’ film too pretty well, if he wants. What was that babe in the desert one with nicole kidman? Right up there with any of them.

When looking at the close up part (starts at 1:36) I noticed IT showed the numbers 4,6 en 7.. strange indeed 🙂

Strange thing, indeed. Doesn’t look like northern light I’ve seen.
The thing looks like structure partially lit up by internal discharges.
Have you tried to super-impose some of the enlaged images ?

    • March 29, 2019 at 7:48 pm

Yeah, no way it’s aurora, not this far south and not by the look of it. You have to keep in mind that each frame is a 10 second exposure, so it can be misleading what you’re looking at. To me, it’s a point light (very bright compared to stars) that is moving quickly, once in a while standing still (as noted in the vid). So the faint streaks are the thing moving around, randomly, it appears. But as slow as I got it (in the Uncut version) is still not quite ‘real time.’ Still too fast.

But it would not look like it does in the video if you saw it with your eyes alone. It would be a light moving quickly around. A couple hours doing that and I never looked up. Idiot.

    • March 29, 2019 at 9:51 pm

I think the foggy effect is the blur from the long exposures but I could be wrong. It might be some sort of energy or whatever. The couple frames that show just a bright point light (like it was resting for a few seconds) are probably important.

As a random thought, Aurora doesn’t seem so far off. Could be a directed energy beam from the ground (like radar), that hits a layer of ionized or ionizeable particles. The “circular dance” might be caused by vibrations of the sender through maschinery and wind, and the morphing shapes could be explained by varying cloud density and movement. And it would explain the sudden disappearance.

Hi there Allan!, I haven’t talked to you for a few years now (time flies!)…but you are the best Detective/Sluth on earth bar none. You said you don’t check your older blog posts comments,so I have to mention here about the ChCh shootings. Like you, I agreed there is no doubt it is fake because NO bullet holes or blood on those pristine white walls.
But some real sharp eyed guy has noticed the biggest PROOF that video is a setup, because there is a full magazine of bullets on the floor inside BEFORE THE SHOOTER WENT IN.
I never noticed myself (after watching 3 times) until he pointed it out on the film.
The film is called “5 things wrong with the Christchurch shooting video” on BITCHUTE.
    Kind Regards, Brett.

    • March 29, 2019 at 7:51 pm

Thanks, Brett. I’ll give it a look. The trick is just to pay attention to small things and see what they imply. I’m okay at that, which I’m thankful for.

Hey what you filmed above is very similar to what my pen friend in Australia was capturing on film above his farm, – about every week!.
He seems to have vaporized off youtube about 9 years ago now.
Believe it or not, he found these lights to be “intelligent and reactive” to lights shined up at them….here is his collection of mostly still photos – AMAZING! …

    Northern Lights, Allan?

      March 29, 2019 at 11:16 am

Not likely in Louisiana. There is a bit of solar wind today according to spaceweather.com but they don’t seem to suggest it was active when Allan was filming, and there are no sunspots.

I’ve often wondered how clouds form; I’d suggest incipient cloud, except I’d expect that to drift off, not stay right above. Unless Allan’s own biomagnetism was the source. I’m not sure if I’m joking or not, either.

Obviously it’s an Iridium geocentric satellite who’s number three thruster has been captured by a competitor’s space WIFI that is interfering with it’s programming. It’s a DDoS attack that Iridium is literally trying to shake off using the the other three thrusters they are still in control of.The satellite over heated went dark then switched to reserve power for the final battle. It proved all too much for Iridium and they self destructed it and are currently placing a spare in it’s place with a more powerful anti thruster capture, software system.

        True or false?

      • March 29, 2019 at 7:54 pm

Nice to think that! (The random-ness of the movement could be from my noodle, but I don’t have the stamina to dance like that for two hours.)

Btw, I did the same camera set up last night (plus many other nights) and nothing, of course. It takes dedication to film the sky every night, knowing odds are 1,000 to 1 that something interesting will show up. I do have archived some strange sky-stuff tho.
