Hi folks,
Back from the Berlin film festival, which I’ll get into later. That’s not the big news anyway, which is this: As I write I’m uploading my Fundy film onto Youtube. The title being, simply, Fundy; A Study of Time and Tide.
I’ve been blabbing about making this film since June, when I left Montauk. Three months work, the final cut is about eight minutes. What I’m thinking is that if you’re not willing to take eight minutes to view my three months work, what’s the point of getting these posts? (Only a bit more than half open the posts as it is.) I’d rather not send my work to people not interested in it. So the deal is that I’m going to send the link now, and one more time, in about a week (while I’m on the road to the desert of the southwestern U.S.). If you don’t open either post, I’ll unsubscribe you. Nothing personal. There’s just no point.
I’m very happy with the film. I think I did what I set out to do: make the Fundy film. But you decide.
Please make sure it plays at hi res, full screen. No ‘small’ screens, please!
That’s it folks. This post is the film. (Or is it vice versa?)
I’ll soon do a post about my time in Berlin and my reunion with my old Pavones buddy, Joachim, who now lives in Germany. In fact, I’m making a film about the trip. Joachim, a former stunt driver (among other wild-ass things), took me for quite a 300 mile ride in his Gull Wing Mercedes. My GoPros got a serious workout; I have the speedometer at 324 kilometers per hour. That’s 201-plus mph. In traffic. So hang in.
Allan
If you find that the Fundy film is blocked where you are, let me know at allan@banditobooks.com and I’ll send a different link. Mention your location. If you like the film, help me out by spreading the word/the link.
