Gus Keeps Waking Up Plus Calendars

Give a good look at those Nat Geo legs, especially the ankles. It gets worse the bigger you blow ’em up.

Been either on the road or distracted by writing and photo-editing for the book. (I’m up to 36,000 words for the Foreword and ain’t done with it yet!) Hey folks, this book project has grown (in my mind) into something completely new and mind-bending. For better or worse it’s going to be a very different sort of book. Interweaving threads in mixed prose and images that sometimes curve back on each other. Subtext up the wazoo.

My research into the history and current state of photography has led me down some unexpected paths, a good example being the brothel photo from the 1993 National Geographic article. Take a look at it and tell me what you think, with just your eyes, no forensics. For me, that ‘Big 4’ sex worker (ya’ll can’t say ‘whore’ any more) silhouette in the background looks like she stepped out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. Ever see legs like that on an actual human? Especially given her extended, curvaceous derriére?

I won’t say who the famous photog is (this is a severe crop), not here, but does that look like a human face? (Plus the shadow makes no visual sense.)

Well, see, what this ‘mission’ led to — aside from many miles on The Loneliest Road in America and then still more on The Hard Ride of Route 93, where the Big 4 beckoned in Ely, Nevada — was some similar analyticals of well-known and current documentary and ‘street photographers,’ and by god did I unearth some bullshit?

You bet I did. In fact with one genuinely famous shooter I had a hard time finding an image that was not manipulated to be perfectly multi-layered and composed. I’m talking figures dropped in whole cloth where no one actually was in real life and others that were obviously made of two or more combined photographs. This of course is not surprising, given the world we live in but it does tell us that ‘creative’ types are just as bent towards deceit as any slime ball politician.

If I do a calendar with the rig as the theme, this sort of photo might make it in.

This book sees print, there are going to be some upset living photogs out there, along with the estates of some passed ones. You ever look at one of those ‘The 100 Most Important Photographs Ever Taken’ lists? A healthy percentage of them are likewise concocted in a darkroom (in the past) or Photoshop (the recent ones).

‘History, a lie agreed upon’ would have to include imagery, wouldn’t it?

This was at an old Pony Express Station on The Loneliest Road in America. It’s in the running for the calendar.

Speaking of which, I stumbled upon a company that will make a 2023 calendar with your photos, or mine, which is the point here. I’m going make a few no matter what, but if you guys are interested you can help me defer the costs of all this traveling and shooting and book-producing and so forth (I go anywhere it comes to about a buck a mile)  by buying them (the calendars). It would be a big help if I knew ahead of time how many I can figure to sell, for, say, $25. I mean, everyone is going to need a new calendar, right? At least you optimists who figure we will survive for another full year.

Shot this a few days ago by hand-holding and shutter dragging. I have no idea how it turned out this way but I do like it. Yep, this is in the camera, no Photoshop.

Tell you what: The world ends in 2023 I will refund, prorated by the month until November (2023). We make it through November without a micro-nova, nuclear holocaust, actual bio-catastrophe, and so forth, we’re good. (How I will get the money to you is separate issue, along with the possibility that money won’t be worth anything.)

So please shoot me an email at allan at banditobooks dot com. and also let me know your preference: Should I just pick 12 or 13 of my best or should they all include the rig (at some spectacular location) in the shot, sort of give it a theme?

One other thing for now. Rupert Sheldrake asked me to make a short video that shows I was not cherry-picking in the first one version of ‘Gus Awakes,’ so I made a new one with no cuts, which proves I didn’t leave out the failed tries (at waking her up via our ‘extended minds’). The problem with really long videos with no cuts is the battery running out (I solved the overheating problem). So here it is.

See what do you think? Pairing it with the other one(s), do you agree it shows a psychic connection? (Someone already left a comment saying I moved my foot once, so it’s flawed’.)

Look closely at the two bright planets: this was the last conjunction between Venus and Jupiter; it was November 17, 2017. I was at Alamo Lake, Arizona. Ah, if I’m showing a photo here it won’t be in the calendar.

Allan

Don’t forget to get back to me on the Calendars.

P.S. Just got an email from Rupert:

Another possibility is empty road shots from across America as a ‘theme.’ I have plenty of nice ones.

Dear Allan,

Many thanks.  The film with the 5 successes and the fast forward bits between them is indeed impressive as is your longer one.  I don’t think anyone else has done filmed tests with dogs or cats waking them up, so you are a pioneer in this.  I’d like to refer to your short film on my social media and give a link to your longer film so people who’d like to see more can do so.

See how it gets worse?

I don’t think it will change the minds of any sceptics who simply deny any evidence that goes against their beliefs. They are virtually evidence-proof and have been for years.  But most people are more open minded and I hope it will encourage others with dogs and cats to pay more attention to their waking in response to looks.

Best wishes

Rupert

Rupert is of course correct here. No one changes his/her mind about anything. With all the evidence, however — read virtually any of Rupert’s books, or those of Dean Radin — the materialist/reductionist/ scientism paradigm is still another indication of the trouble we’re in as a species.

    Hi Allan,

many many great points you wrote about.

Can’t really tell that much about the Nat Geo legs even though those do look kinda fake. Trying to come up with a remote benefit of the doubt I might suppose that woman has been gifted with such a peculiar body but I wouldn’t bet money on it.
Got me thinking about some friends of mine talking to me about some women they met online. These women sent some pictures for my friends to see and everyone of ’em looked stunning. I have always been skeptical you know…pictures differ in terms of camera angle and so forth so think about what people from Nat Geo may be able to do in terms of fakery.

To not believe your achievement with Gus it’s just nonsense…it takes to be blind not to recognize your discovery and someone like Sheldrake called you a “pioneer” and this footage shows.

I would love to get your calendar and I would go with the 12 or 13 best shots.

    Take care.

Those legs are fake x fake mate.
Please warn your friends – all their money will go to evil spooks in Lagos.
Right now this is absolutely rife, and ripping through the world, even duping clever people.

I think that what you wrote was actually very reasonable.
However, what about this? what if you were to write a killer title?

I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your website, however suppose you added
a title that grabbed a person’s attention? I mean Gus Keeps Waking
Up Plus Calendars – Allan C. Weisbecker
is a little boring. You might glance at Yahoo’s front
page and watch how they write article headlines to grab people to click.
You might try adding a video or a related pic or two to get
readers interested about everything’ve written. In my opinion,
it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.

Yeah I think it’s safe to say that those with the power, opportunity and ability to fix will fix, when necessary situationally and probably for fun sometimes, and of course inversion is evil so it gets pretty deep that way.

I did an image from the bluff at San elijo during a massive fire storm. (Side note, if you ever have a chance go into a grocery store and ask where the firewood is during an epic firestorm. Classic reactions). So this photo was a lineup surf shot. The light was insane and it was dead glass looking down on really nice 2 footers which always appear bigger from a top angle. So I took about ten let’s say. Same everything. In one of the shots two hueys flew by in front of the setting sun. Well this was amazing looking. It was apocalyptic. But they flew by in between sets. Soooo I took them and put them on one the shot that had the prettiest wave. I have enough skill do do it in such a way that your never going to know. And actually when the frames are all the same time and light that’s easy. And man that was a sick photo. I got it on the homepage of the surf company I worked for at the time. Generally only reserved for surf photos like jeff divine. Here’s my point. I have no problems doing this. It happened. The image represented the feeling I had seeing that. Retouching doesn’t bother me, well good retouching.

Making fake images that are intended to bolster fake shit is a problem. I get that’s what Allan is talking about. I am just making the point that it’s not a blanket thing.

interesting comment. I’d like to see the pic. would you send it to me at allan at bb.com? interesting subject and very important to my book.

Hey Michael, that is awesome photography craft, and nothing fake or misleading AT ALL.
With you blending picture details like that, we all (including you) get to see what was in your scene, even if you have to play with the timing. Very Cool.
The deceptive photography, is say, photo’s of a house for sale, that have been doctored, and we go to see the house and it’s setting, and it looks terrible.
Love Allan’s photo’s, he always thinks “outside the square”, and often tells us how he did it (which he doesn’t have to). My A.W’s photo book will be a treasure forever, for me and others.

I pretty much side with what my spirit inside deems as truth… The internal BS detector decides my reality.
However that internal guide can cause some cognitive dissonance when viewing the lies and deceit woven together by a Babylonian system of control and deception.
Try as they might I refuse to die and refuse to be quiet about such matters.
With that said I am truly grateful for life, my experiences and the love expressed towards me and the ability to love and care for others throughout my brief existence here on spaceship earth.
Thanks Allan blessings and Aloha to you!

I think that because I grew up around show business (Sound man dad) and advertising (mother and two step dads) my bill shit detector was activated at a very very young age. Probably too young. I assumed that everything produced by Jonas for entertainment, news, and marketing was fundamentally bullshit. Hard to say what that did to me developmentally. I fully expect every person to be dishonest to some degree. I think people that admire celebrities and politicians are defects. I remember telling kids in elementary school when things weren’t real a lot. One thing kids often believe is that non animated tv is truth. And defect adults believe this too. Another one I’ve heard is that a photo tells no lies Which doesn’t even make sense. People tend to engage in black and white thinking in areas in which they have no knowledge or expertise. The truth is it’s all grey except the base emotions. Like love. Love for ones child is truth. .

Happy Thanksgiving…Sports is clearly fixed. The Dallas Cowboys were handily winning against the NY Giants today, 28-13, then they miss a FG and allow a NY Giants TD in the final seconds, making it 28-20, so everyone who bet on the Cowboys lost against the spread…Miles Mathis destroyed the Club Q Colorado Springs event. Check that out. Why are my tax dollars going to this fake stuff?

Fakes. Interesting word. It implies an intent to fool, to deceive. Do you say the same thing about sculptors? Or painters? How about Matisse?

I lean towards creating my images in camera. There’s one famous photographer who refuses to crop an image differently than the camera’s aspect ratio. I think that’s just stupid. So an image shot in a Hasselblad is more or less valid than one shot in a Nikon because the aspect ratio is different? Bullshit. As to changing the sky, or shit like that, I have a problem with that, but I tend to think it’s my problem, not the artist’s. Can you fake your writing? What would unfake writing look like? You’re creating images when you write. As a TV writer were you upset because you thought you were creating fake realities? What about science fiction, is it invalid somehow?

I think it depends on the intent. Faking an advertising photograph is fraud. Creating an image from ideas in your mind I’d have to judge differently.

    • November 24, 2022 at 7:47 pm

If someone hasn’t got a couple of brain cells to realize a photograph’s SKY for instance, has been possibly colour enhanced – more fool them!. Real estate sellers do it most of the time.

Don’t see honest-to-God blue skies much any more. Not here in the northamerican East.

i m wondering if Allan (or Brett or anyone here) might have thoughts to share about the ‘vanilla sky’ phenomenon in old city-scape photographs, which is said to be evidence of tampering and therefore part of the Tartaria obfuscation, i.e. the allegèd misattributing of our oldest buildings to familiar founders, thus propping up our mendacious timeline.

        • November 25, 2022 at 10:07 pm

Hi Ea, I know THIS is responsible for at least some of it, if not all of it.
Here is my video I took 10 years ago, of a real monster, dirty, off-white coloured CHEMTRAIL, that went straight over our house, at a hell of a height & hurry – >
…made by the notorious “Ghost Plane”, that goes constantly < (I think), all around the Earth – https://youtu.be/b1zCL3ZcATQ
We watched this crap hang in the sky for well over 1 1/4 hrs, as it drifted south in a gentle breeze. Was one of the thickest trails I have ever seen.

          • November 25, 2022 at 10:11 pm

…I must mention I reported it to the Airport, Aviation Authority, Ag & fish, and it all fell on deaf dumb ears that didn’t want to know, or try and know.
AND they all “passed the buck”.

Allan, in the early 70s I took a workshop with Jerry Uelsmann. He was one of the finest black and white darkroom technicians ever. His prints were simply stunning. Which made it so terrible in that his images, his messages, were utterly without meaning. He would take several images and blend them together to create the final print, and these prints, as I said, were stunning technically. But… he made a point of specifically telling the workshop attendees that there was no intent, no meaning implied or to be inferred by the juxtapositions of images in any given print. It was all just random, meaningless. I don’t know if this says more about me or more about him but I felt, and still feel, angry that this supreme talent worked so hard to create images utterly without meaning. My heros at the time were Paul Strand, Minor White, Edward Weston, etc. Ulesmann was sacrilege.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to your book.

    • November 24, 2022 at 4:55 pm

Interesting story. I’d just tried to get through a video featuring his work, but couldn’t make it, for reasons you imply: meaningless and/or self-indulgent and so forth. But it’s interesting to me b/c it shows what can be done in the darkroom, before Photoshop and the like. Many of the fraudulent photos I’m finding are pre Adobe. Here’s an example of what Scott I talking about, in case someone is curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJkhUloCnqc

The fakes I’m finding are mostly color but I think if it can be done in b & w, should be the same in color. Plus back then people were less expecting it.

    • November 24, 2022 at 6:23 pm

I’m talking about ‘street photography’ — the above shot is from a famous one, who does it all the time and no one busts him on it until now — which I assume you know, should not be pre-arranged unless it’s obviously ‘an environmental portrait’. (Yes, a fine line sometimes but usually it’s obvious.) You do that (arrange people to look candid) you are a fraud. Do you not understand this?

You know good and well that painters/sculptors are a different ball game altogether. I’m surprised you would accused me of being that dumb. The one I show is in some way a fake human face, is it not? (The shadow is fake too, but never mind.) Let’s agree on that first.

      Do you recognize the photographer?

      You say:
‘You’re creating images when you write. As a TV writer were you upset because you thought you were creating fake realities? What about science fiction, is it invalid somehow?’ Sorry, but that is a really dumb ass comparison. What, did you wake up today pissed off or what?

You actually think sticking in a totally fake sky (made by Adobe) is ‘your problem’?

Oh and how about Nat Geo’s image? Do you think there was ‘intent to deceive’ in that?

  13. November 24, 2022 at 1:08 pm

Hi Alan…That human in the photo looks too stylized and the texture of the silhouette has that pixallated digital look around the edges plus it looks oddly transparent .Plus….some of the highlights looks painted in especially the countertop highlight. Pretty obvious once blown up but noticeable at normal size. I found your Gus video evidence compelling . It is fascinating thinking about that connection and what it implies.
