Sorry for the silence but I’m struggling over what lies are most important and at the same time inarguable: An embarrassment of riches.
On the other hand, my MacBook Pro is driving me nuts: the cursor keeps jumping around and getting stuck. Anyone have any thoughts? 9this was supposed to be in parens but I’m stuck on 9, and so on. the only way to fix it is to hit shift, command, then 3 then esc, then it still might not work. Fun, huh?

Allan, my experience is that six years is the lifespan of a MacBook Pro. My 1st , 2011-17 due to failure of its DVD.
Now the 2nd…my “A” tile came loose a month ago & “V” often doesn’t work.
I went through 5, FIVE 9in 3 months9 MacBooks before this one. and none of the apple ‘experts’ I talked through could explain why Moore’s Law doesn’t apply to MacBooks. some didnt even know what Moore’s Law was.

Planned obsolescence is a failsafe device depending on the organism it is designed for -carbon based life forms plants animals humans or- silica based life forms like Computer systems … The designers have to be savvy so their creations do not go Frankenstein run amok making a big mess that eventually has to be cleaned up by the angry janitor…. however if extra cleverness is afoot, one could make a tidy profit on all the aspects of perceived progress-
So God based creation tech and divine planned obsolescence yields order and entropy versus human based reverse engineering planned obsolescence which is profit based and creates angry populace and janitors…
A few thoughts after reading this post (failed vulnerable human based technology) and some of the past blogs about sun based party pooping kill shots directed at earthshitting on human progress…

Your track pad may be failing, hence the dodgy cursor. Try plugging in a mouse. I know you don’t want to, but that’s my suggestion.
Regarding Carlson FWIW and FYI, I have zero interest in limited hangout Tuck. It’s clear, at least to me, what his “new assignment” was post Fox. He and his fellow faux “conservatives”, e.g. Owens, etc. have gone all in on promoting the likes of Andrew Tate. Long story less long, the new assignment was about black-washing/subverting conservatism by promoting the likes of Tate.
