This will be a short one. I’ve just been notified that my Inbox for the blog is full and is on the verge of being deleted altogether, meaning, in effect, this blog. I had to manually delete about 5,000 spam emails asking to be moderated for comments; they were gibberish. Someone is screwing with me.

So if you’ve been trying to make a comment and are getting ‘Awaiting moderation’ or some such, all I can say is… sorry! Email me with the comment at acwdownsouth at yahoo and I will post it manually. I can’t tell your comments from the spam without opening the messages.
I want to get this out now, but so the post isn’t a waste I’ll include a new slide show. I met some cattle ranchers, a family of three, really, in the Badlands and wormed my way in to photograph their annual roundup.
Gus quickly led me to these bull snakes mating as soon as we settled in to our range niche.
Turns out there is a cause here, with government stupidity (etc.) of course at the bottom of it, so please pay attention to the message.
