The First Twinge

Note: I was under general anesthetic yesterday and am still feeling spaced out and dizzy, so my plan was to wait a few days before writing a post. As you’ll see, this didn’t work out. So if my prose isn’t up to whatever standards I used to… fuck it, you get the idea.

I don’t have much time today so this will be short. I know many of you are curious about my hospital stay, but that’s not what this will be about. I will get back to it (there is some interesting stuff to relate) but not now.

I’m at Rock Hound State Park, New Mexico, after going on six years of travel one of my favorite campsites. Half hour ago a couple of Park Rangers came by and informed me that, by order of the Governor, all state parks are closed to overnight camping until April 9, ‘unless extended.’ Effective today. Now. This ban is ‘for the good of the public,’ and is meant to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

These rangers were good and decent human beings; I sensed that right away. They were not the sort of uniformed asshole who just loves giving orders, especially those that bum someone out for no rational reason. I had to have my say, though: ”This is the stupidest thing you could possibly do!’ and so forth. In fact, as I’ve already mentioned, camping out in the desert — with months worth of supplies already bought — is probably the best thing I personally could do, in terms of ‘the public good.’ The head Ranger, Robert, aggravated me just a bit by agreeing with everything I said. He even saw the impossibility that the parks would open back up on April 9. In fact, his eyes widened in fearful understanding when I recited the back-of-the-envelope estimation I’d already done of how many COVID cases we’d have in the U.S. around the end of April, which is in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, depending on ‘the breaks’, and depending on the level of stupidity of those who are making the decisions.

Addendum: Just a minute ago a Susan Torres, a state ‘public information officer,’ returned the call I made when the Rangers left. After explaining that I’m a journalist doing a piece on the state parks system, I gave her my pitch of how ‘inefficient’ it is to evacuate perfect places to ride out the pandemic, especially given that most Park campgrounds are populated by the elderly (like me!), who are especially in peril from The Bug.

‘You are putting us on the streets,’ and so forth.

I talked to her for a good 20 minutes and was calm and rational and did not say what I was thinking about her governor’s decision-making. She promised to pass my information up the chain of command and get back to me on it.

Fear. After the Rangers left (I have two hours to vacate), I felt my first twinge of actual fear since this matter first arose back in January. Fear for myself. See, I see this state park shutdown as the initial move to control and possibly to round up people like me, plus folks who enjoy the freedom of the road life. You can go back and peruse my list of how I see it going, worst case.

Apt title to that post: ‘The Beginning of the End Game?’ We’ll see when we can delete that question mark. Fuck it, here’s the list from that post:

1. Voluntary isolation of the sick
2. Mandatory isolation of the sick (they will come and get you, as in China)
3. Voluntary quarantine (of not-sick people) in their homes, plus…
4. Curfews and spot checking (for symptoms) on the streets
Note: somewhere in here would go ‘banning camping in state parks’ The reason I didn’t think of it is because I was unable to think on that level of utter stupidity. Imagine banning camping out under the stars during a pandemic. See why I didn’t think of that one?
4a. Travel bans are enacted, including street travel between cities and towns
5. Hoarding of food/water/supplies is outlawed (to make the populace dependent on the government)
6. Mandatory quarantines, first at home (you can’t leave the house) then…
7. Quarantine camps (which are now called Fema Camps and are ready and waiting)
8. Guns (They will come and get them, as with Katrina in New Orleans; no reason needed)
9. Vaccination (idiots will plea for it)
10. Mandatory vaccinations (in the camps and in order to procure food from the government)
11. ‘Fake News’ is banned (as suggested at ‘Event 201), arrests made; in some areas the Internet is shut down — to prevent ‘a crisis in confidence’ (some measures will start early on)
12. Cash money is said to carry The Bug and is outlawed
13. The United Nations, at first via WHO, is gradually given jurisdiction, with some foreign troops on U.S. soil
14. One World (cashless) Economy and Government is eased in
.(Formal Martial Law is declared somewhere around measures 7 or 8)
15. At some point aerial spraying may be initiated, with some sort of bull shit reason given relating to fighting The Bug. God only knows what will be in these admitted chemtrails.
16. The Bug will serve as another reason for unlimited surveillance and the curtailing of personal freedoms in general. The excuse will be the ‘identification of people who refuse to be tested or vaccinated’, something like that.
.
Bingo! There is nothing about The Bug that is not perfect in terms of The Agenda. The most obvious perfection is the 14 – 42 day dormancy period, which was genetically implanted in The Bug at the U of North Carolina and maybe in Australia (listen to the Boyle link). People A-symptomatic (not sick) yet contagious for that long? A Bill Gates wet dream. (Another PTB feature of this designer bug is how it can go away — with the patient ‘recovering’ — then come roaring back, more potent and more contagious than the initial go-round.)

I’m listening to NPR and Biden or someone just said: ‘This is the new ‘normal” and then ‘This is war.’

Sound familiar? I recall exactly those words on September 12, 2001. This is looking more and more like the next Big One.

I just went outside to check on Gus. Christ. Everyone but is gone. Many of the folks I talked to don’t know where they will go. Some will try to make it ‘home,’ several states away. The insanity is starting sooner than I thought it would.

I don’t know where I’m going/what’s going to happen. I was counting on the state parks system of New Mexico for a safe place to hunker down, with water and even electric handy, and no one within 30 yards of my rig. Now that’s gone.

I will try nearby BLM land (free camping), but that’s Federal, which is worse than state. It’s just a matter of time until they evict campers from there too. If any of you know of rural private land where I would have access to water, please let me know. It would have to be no more than 500 miles from Deming, New Mexico. (If electric is within 300 feet of a site, that would be super, but not necessary; I have solar.)

Okay, I have to break camp and get out of here. I’m now actively worried about how it’s going to go for me personally.

Sorry I didn’t have time to dig up some photos. I’ll try next time.
